US Elections 2024
Ajinkya Hukerikar played a key technical and creative role in developing virtual production workflows for CBS New’s 2024 U.S. Election coverage in New York and at CBS local stations.
His work included:
Designed a Flycam and Teleportation pipeline that allowed two on-camera talents to appear in different areas of the same virtual environment while physically remaining in the same green-screen studio.
Developed the virtual Flycam transition that moved the viewer between the two talent positions, creating the appearance of a much larger connected virtual set.
Demonstrated the workflow to the CBS News production team, where the approach was well received and subsequently used extensively during election coverage at local stations.
Integrated multiple virtual production approaches within the CBS New York network studio, including AR, green-screen, and LED-wall workflows.
Helped create a blended physical-and-virtual environment in which the physical set appeared to extend into a much larger virtual space, increasing the perceived scale of the studio without requiring a larger physical footprint.
